Fed: Abbott and co confident of win in Bradfield circus

With a KEVIN RUDD impersonator standing in for an absent Labor Party .. a pole dancer
handing out how-to-vote condoms .. and the dust still to settle on the Liberal leadership
.. predictions the Bradfield by-election would turn into a circus came true today.

The vote for the blue-ribbon Liberal seat sparked a festival atmosphere at many booths
when they opened at 8am (AEDT).

The fake PM ingratiate himself voters and candidates .. and even received a warm reception
from new Liberal leader TONY ABBOTT.

Meanwhile .. a flamboyantly dressed MARIANNE LEISHMAN .. aka ZAHRA STARDUST .. said
the Australian Sex Party has attracted votes across the spectrum.

Labor is not running in the northern Sydney seat .. where 22 candidates are standing.

Liberal candidate PAUL FLETCHER is seen as the frontrunner .. with Mr ABBOTT saying
the Liberals will overcome any protest vote .. although Greens candidate SUSIE GEMMELL
disagrees .. saying climate change is at the forefront of voters' concerns.
