WA GOES TO THE POLLS



West Australian Premier Richard Court today announced West Australians would go to
the polls on February 10.



* The coalition government will be trying for a third consecutive term after winning
the 1993 and 1996 elections on the back of the stench from the so-called WA Inc years.



* The coalition won the 1996 poll with 55.16 per cent of the two-party preferred vote
but opinion polls conducted for the West Australian newspaper suggest that lead has been
